Running a successful private practice isn’t just about being a good therapoist.
Yes, you have to make clinical decisions, but you also have to make safe-guarding decisions, manage boundaries, develop your professional identity, attract clients, set fees, market yourself, manage your case load, responsibly store data, pay your taxes, find insurance, and maintain and sustainable business model.
I believe it’s possible for therapists to create a business model that business a business which is their sole income, and not risk burnout. I know it’s possible, because I did it.
