Learn how to deal with success

My Story

After working for therapy services as a psychotherapist, supervisor and therapy service manager for nearly a decade, I launched my private practice on the Spring Equinox of March, 2020….

The same week COVID hit.

It was interesting timing, for sure, but I stuck with it and took it as an opportunity.

In the first year, I worked for a mix of private clients, clients found through services like ICS Digital Therapies, all predominantly online, and as a consultant / clinical director for a mental health service.

During this time I applied all my learning as a therapist, manager, and consultant to build systems, market myself, hone a brand, find clients, and make sure I covered all the bases so my business was sound.

‍One year later (March 2021), I was earning £30k+ gross. Not bad. But, I was working fairly hard for that income (30 hours week when including clients and supervisees, my consulting role, and admin). Compare that to what I do today, where I am earning just under £50k, but working only around 15 hours a week (12 clients, and 3 hours admin)!

‍All of this has given me great insight into what’s needed to develop a sustainable business.

I’ve had to challenge myself to face my fears, my sense of self, and my self-worth. I’ve had to cultivate courage, patience, self-kindness, organisation, assertiveness, boundaries (not just clinical, but in business practice too), and a tolerance for a healthy dose of risk.

And it’s paid off.

Literally.

I’ve achieved what I set out to achieve in March 2020. I have enough money for me, a job I love, and plenty of time to hang out with my family.

When it comes to my private practice model, I am happy.

I take a deeply psychological and relational approach to private practice business coaching.

This can include recognising how things like identity, self-worth or ADHD can impact our approach, and how we can work with those elements to turbo-charge our private practice business development.

We will acknowledge that our own personal strengths and weaknesses impact the way we relate to our business, and the world in which we develop that business.

We’ll Cover The Practicals:

From insurance to what therapist directories to join, we’ll make sure all the practical fundamentals are covered in a way that suits you.

Private practice business coaching can be explored as a stand-alone offer, or, in combination with clinical supervision as part of my private practise mentoring service.

Fees

Session can take place weekly, fortnightly, or monthly.

£250 per 50 min session.

These sessions are an investment, and are designed to increase your income/hour in the long-term. Previous clients have seen an increase in clients and/or income after just one session. The improvement easily covered the cost of these sessions. And the improvement was expected to continue long after the sessions ended.
